ElyCards offers a wide assortment of greeting cards that can be personalized and sent for just $1.99, with all orders typically delivered in 1-2 mailing days. While the company was still in the start-up phase, 360 was there to help assure a successful launch.
“We loved the idea behind the product. Real greeting cards have a substantive quality to create smiles and warm feelings that can’t be matched by emails, eCards and Facebook posts,” said 360 CEO Bridget DiRico. “It was a pleasure to start them out right with an attractive website, a strong social media presence, and marketing campaigns to encourage first-time users to try ElyCards for themselves.”
Once the company became established, the next step was to keep building traction and finding new customers. As most greeting cards are sold during the Christmas holiday season, 360 designed a campaign built around “Santa Cards,” greeting cards that parents and relatives could send to children that would appear to have been written by Santa Claus.
“We loved the idea, but as a new company we didn’t have the budget for a huge campaign with major advertising,” said ElyCards founder Ron Zayas. “We needed a way to get the word out without a sizable investment.”
360 reached out to bloggers and family-related websites to promote a limited-time free card offer to get the campaign started. The promotion was also featured on ElyCards’ Facebook and Twitter pages. As a result, thousands of cards were ordered within the first few hours of the announcement, and overall sales were 250% over projections.
“The response was amazing,” Zayas said. “We didn’t spend a dime on advertising and could barely keep up with the orders. We have already started preparing for next year’s holiday promotion, and we can’t wait to see how 360 will improve on that first campaign.”
